Two New Ways Drift Can Help Scale Customer Communication

Usually we wait until the end of the month to tell you about all of the new stuff in Drift.

But Matt recently wrote a post talking about how we build products at Drift, and it hit me:

We never wait a month to ship new features (our engineers are shipping daily), so why wait a month to tell you about them?

Here are two things that we didn’t want to wait until the end of the month to tell you about.

PS. You can get started with Drift for free right here.

1) Get Emails And Generate Leads Without Using Forms

A few months ago, we talked about how we made the decision to kill all of our lead forms and stop using gated content (see How to Generate Leads Online Without Forms).

And while the response to that article led to a whole new movement, there was one thing that we heard over and over:

“I wish there was a way to generate leads without using forms.”

Well, now when you’re using Drift, you can collect emails and generate leads simply by having conversations with the people that are on your website — no forms necessary.

2) Drift’s Intelligent Messaging + Your Knowledge Base

To match the way that people buy today, most businesses have some type of knowledge base or collection of help docs.

But let’s face it — even with a help doc for every possible question someone could ask, people will still always contact support.

That’s where Drift’s intelligent messaging comes in.

Now, when someone writes in via chat on your website (or inside of your app), our bot will help surface links to the questions you have already answered:

That way, you can let Driftbot take all of the questions that you already have the answers to — and save your brain power for the bigger questions people will ask.

Here’s Matt with more on how you can use Drift to automatically give customers the help they need:

To start, you will be able to integrate Drift with your Help Scout knowledge base or with Helpjuice, but we will be adding more integrations soon.
