BOSTON, MA – July 23, 2020 – Drift, the world’s leading conversational marketing platform, today announced that its second quarter, which ended June 30 2020, was the largest quarter in company history. Despite the economic disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the company saw continued revenue and bookings increases across all its business units. The record quarter was driven by particularly strong growth in its enterprise business.

“COVID-19 has forced companies — particularly enterprise businesses — to speed up their digital transformation by 10 years. And we are uniquely positioned to help companies do just that,” said David Cancel, founder and CEO of Drift. “We’re thrilled that industry leading companies are turning to Drift to transform their go-to-market processes into the digital era, more effectively engage with their customers and prospects, and accelerate their revenue.”

According to Gartner, eighty-seven percent of senior business leaders say digitalization is a company priority, yet only 40% of organizations have brought digital initiatives to scale,” continued Cancel. “This is in spite of the fact that McKinsey has predicted that bold, tightly integrated digital strategies will be the biggest differentiator between companies that win and companies that don’t. In the long run the changes these companies are making now is going to better position them in the new normal, and we are thrilled to be part of their solution.”

In addition to the company’s record performance, Drift expanded its senior management team during the quarter and announced Todd Barnett as its new Chief Revenue Officer. Todd joined the company from Confluent where he helped scale the business to be among the top 1% of all enterprise software startups. Additionally, in July, Josh Pennino joined Drift as SVP of Enterprise Sales to lead its enterprise go-to-market team and continue the strong momentum Drift has experienced in selling its platform into enterprise scale companies.

The company was also named to Forbes’ AI 50 list which recognizes the country’s most promising artificial intelligence companies, Gartner’s list of Top 25 Enterprise Software companies to watch, and Inc.’s list as one of the Best Workplaces for 2020.

“We’re very pleased with our quarter’s results and the strong momentum we have in the business,” Cancel concluded. “We’re honored and excited to have Todd and Josh join our management team to help us continue and expand that momentum and that organization’s like Forbes, Gartner and Inc. are recognizing what we have built and accomplished. Above all, we remain focused on helping more and more companies with their digital transformation to improve the way they engage with customers and prospects.”
