For me, it was last week in Las Vegas to speak at AWS re:Invent.
I gave a talk on improving the B2B buying experience by taking a page or two from the consumer brand playbook. These brands have been delivering personalized, timely, and memorable experiences for their customers for years.
But put plainly — B2B has failed to keep up.
Now there’s a lot of reasons why this is the case, but one of the biggest is really the way that a lot of people still think of business today. With B2B and B2C designations, we miss out on one big glaring truth.
There are human beings behind every business transaction. And really, it shouldn’t be about B2B or B2C. It’s B2H(uman).
So, as I was preparing my presentation, I was thinking a lot about people. How we market and sell to them. How we work with them in our teams. And how people should always be our north star, period.
