Hi all –
From familiar routines to a repetitive call script, relying on the same things day in and day out is a great way to get stuck.
Habits themselves aren’t necessarily a bad thing. Not at all. But it’s the habits that never get examined that can get us into trouble.
A few weeks ago on our Seeking Wisdom podcast, Drift’s Chief Product Officer Leo and I talked about iteration. As professionals, as people, we should never stop iterating. And never stop learning.
Because you can’t get to the next level if you don’t focus on the next thing.
It’s how Netflix went from being the company that put DVDs in mailboxes to the content powerhouse they are today.
So keep iterating. Keep examining. Keep looking for new ways to do familiar things.
If you feel like you’re getting stuck, stop for a moment and take a look at your approach. If it feels all-too-familiar, look at it from a different side. Ask a different question. And keep pushing yourself to uncover the next great new thing. It’s right in front of you, I promise.
