I spend too much time on my phone.
Today I got a notification that said I spent 5 hours and 43 minutes last week looking at my screen.
5 HOURS AND 43 MINUTES. Is it just me, or does that seem like a lot?
And I know what you’re thinking, and you’re right – most of that screen time came from scrolling through Instagram and Twitter 🤷♂️
But as I dug into it, I found out that a good amount of that was from Gmail and LinkedIn.
And that got me thinking.
I spend a good amount of time working from my phone.
Yeah, there are things that aren’t as easy to do from my phone – like building a spreadsheet or writing a blog post (like this one).
But whether or not it’s easy doesn’t matter.
What does matter is that I CAN.
Being able to work from where I am – like an airport or on the bus – lets me stay connected and do the work I need to while not physically in the office.
And having that ability is an absolute MUST in today’s hyper-connected world.
I mean think about it…you’re not always on your computer, you’re not always working.
But there are times where you need to jump on something like replying to an email or answering a question for one of your customers or prospects.
And that’s where we have the luxury of pulling out our phones and getting down to business.
Which brings me to my next point.
I’m super excited to announce the release of Drift Video for Mobile.
Now, no matter where you are, you can record and share videos, track views, and chat live with your prospects and customers – even when you’re on the go.
Let me show you how it works 👇
Send Personalized Videos From Anywhere
Video lets you kick prospecting into high gear.
It’s a high-quality outbound activity.
And what better way to drive engagement from that activity than to record a quick video for your prospects right from your phone.
Here are a few things you could try 👇
- Send a video thanking your prospect for a productive meeting
- Send a video to someone who has gone dark to try and re-engage them
- Send a video to introduce a new point of contact
- Send a video to someone you just connected with on LinkedIn
The opportunities are endless, especially now that you don’t need your computer to record 😉
So stop sending faceless, robotic emails that get ignored and start sending rich, personal messages that spark conversations.
Track Video Views With Real-Time Push Notifications
There’s something that’s almost polarizing about push notifications.
You’re either the person who gets super excited when their phone lights up – or crazy stressed by a slew of new messages. I’m more of the former myself 😊
But no matter who you are, you never want to miss an opportunity to connect with your highest valued accounts.
One of Drift’s reps, Dan Salvetti, took that to the extreme. He was driving on the highway when he got a notification that one of his prospects was watching his video.
So like any good driver would do, Dan pulled over to the breakdown lane, stopped the car, and jumped into a conversation with his prospect, and booked a meeting – all from the side of the road.
True story, folks. Ask him for yourself right here (yes, this is his actual chat link).
And if you want to wait until you get to your destination to look at the notification, don’t worry. You can always find your notifications in the notification center in the app.
Chat Live While Customers Watch Your Video
Now that you’re getting notified people are watching your videos, it’s time to capitalize on that opportunity.
When that precious notification comes through (and I repeat, please make sure you’re not actively driving, walking across the street, or doing something that needs 100% of your attention), click into it and start chatting.
It can be as simple as saying: “Hey there, I’m here to answer any questions you have. Let me know how I can help.”
Whether you’re starting the conversation yourself, responding to questions, or booking meetings, you can engage your customers while they watch your videos no matter where you are.
