We’re Looking For A Leader To Help Bring Drift To San Francisco

Drift San Francsico

Messaging is exploding.

And you don’t need a pretty looking chart or a killer stat from an analyst to agree.

Messaging is how we communicate today.

We use iMessage to talk to family, Facebook Messenger to connect with old friends, and Slack to talk to co-workers all day (among countless other messaging apps that are out there).

But on top of using messaging apps to talk to the people in our lives, we’ve also started to use messaging apps to talk to businesses.

In fact, it’s become clear that we don’t just want to use messaging to talk to businesses, we expect it.

Just last week, Twilio published a new study about how people want to use technology to talk to businesses, and there was one clear takeaway: people want to use messaging. Nine out of ten consumers said they want to be able to use messaging to talk to businesses.

And that’s exactly what we’re focused on at Drift: using messaging to strengthen the connection between businesses and their customers.

But after spending the last six months talking to thousands of businesses about this, we’ve heard one thing over and over:

Businesses are frustrated with the existing companies and products in this space.

Messaging apps built for businesses that feel outdated and don’t match the way that sales and customer success teams actually work today — and companies that reward loyal customers by not telling them when their bill goes up.

That’s why our mission at Drift isn’t just to build another messaging app — our mission is to help every business on earth know, grow, and amaze their customers.

We want Drift to become the standard for how businesses and customers communicate.

And while we still have a long way to go on this journey, we’re certainly heading in the right direction.

As of last week, more than 10,000 businesses have selected Drift as their tool for communicating with their customers.

Which leads me to why I’m writing this post today.

In order to help businesses everywhere, we need to be everywhere, and for us that means bringing Drift to the West Coast.

We’re looking for a leader to join our team and help us expand and open our first office outside of Boston in San Francisco.

Drift is backed by CRV, General Catalyst, NextView Ventures, Founder Collective and angel investors from Twitter, HubSpot and other high growth companies, and we’re on a mission to transform how every business in the world communicates with their customers.

Despite our fast growth, we’re just getting warmed up.

We’re playing the long game, and we think we’re still in the first inning of our history.

But we can’t go anywhere without the right person leading the charge.

Someone who wants a chance to be part of this exciting stage of our growth (right now there are only 18 full-time employees at Drift), help us open an office in San Francisco, and play an instrumental role in helping us fulfill our mission.
