Target Campaigns Based On Industry, Technology, And More

Here’s something you might not know about Drift: you can be super targeted with your messages.

In addition to all of the targeting options you have when creating a campaign, we recently added the ability to target campaigns based on things like industry (B2B, SaaS, etc.) employee count, and funding raised:

And you can also target campaigns based on technology people are using too (thanks to a great partnership with our friends at Clearbit).

Get The Right Conversations To The Right People With Routing

If you have a sales team that’s more than just a few people, you likely have rules that govern which leads go to which reps to keep things fair and keep those reps focused on a specific market or territory — and you might even assign different leads to different reps based on things like geography, company size, URL, and more.

So now with Routing Rules, you can automatically build and manage the rules that will help you get the right lead to the right person:

Have LeadBot Qualify Visitors And Skip Questions

LeadBot is an intelligent sales assistant that can supplement or completely replace traditional lead forms.

(And that means that even when all of your salespeople are sleeping, LeadBot can continue to run on your website and ask all of the same qualifying questions they might ask.)

And this month, we added a new power to LeadBot: the ability to skip ahead to different questions:

A New Way To Say Hey (Plus A Fresh Coat Of Paint)

We heard that you loved the Welcome Message style so much that you wished you could use it for your Drift Campaigns, so this month we made that happen.

So now you can have different welcome messages on different pages to greet the people visiting your website, just like this:

Not only did we roll out this new campaign type, but we also added a brand new call-to-action option for you: the ability to schedule a meeting.

Instead of having a CTA that says “learn more” or “check out this article,” why not give the best leads a direct line to your calendar? Well now you can — and it’s as easy as you’re used to with the existing Drift campaign options.

And to top it all off, we updated all of our welcome message styles to be a little bit bolder (which we’re hoping will help you start more conversations).

Actually, hold up there. Let’s take this one step further.

A lot of you told us the welcome message on mobile was too big…

So, we built you a brand new mobile-optimized version of the welcome message that’s far less intrusive and looks just like this:

Stay In The Loop With Conversation Participants

Because a lot of Drift conversations happen in real time, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to get the most context in the least amount of time.

Previously, the only way to see who was in a conversation was to scroll up and down and see who on your team has had sent messages.

But now, with participants, all you need to do is glance at the top of a conversation to see who is involved and we make it as easy as a single click to add a new person to the conversation (which will send them a notification that they’ve been added):

A Few Other Quick Updates From April

  • Read receipts to tell if your messages that you sent your leads or customers were read (!)
  • Your settings page has a brand new look and things are much easier to find.
  • Major speed improvements and a more reliable conversation view.
  • We updated some of the logic around LeadBot keywords to get you better matches for followups.
  • If you’re using HubSpot, and someone has filled out a form or clicked on a HubSpot email, you’ll be able to identify them across your site (vs an anonymous visitor) — it’s like magic.
